The next Club Walk
The roads will be open again!! ????
14th April – Hucking Estate.
We will meet at the Hook and Hatchet Pub car park 10am for a 10:30am start.

The walk will take in open fields, bridleways, woodland paths on the Hucking Estate which is open to the public and as usual it is your responsibility to have your dog under control at all times.
Suitable footwear is advised as the ground can be uneven and muddy in places.
The Hook and Hatchet very kindly allow us to use their car park. In return if you are able to pop in for a beer, coffee or a bite to eat they really appreciate it and it helps to allow us use the car park again for the next walk. If you are going to eat it is wise to book a table 01622 880272
Just a reminder the walk is only open to current, registered and active members, please no additional dogs.
Please note the walk is suitable adult dogs only and unsuitable for puppies.

Road Closures
Friday 23 February to Saturday 30 March – A249 southbound closure (towards Maidstone) The A249 southbound will be closed from the Stockbury Roundabout to Church Hill, along with the M2 junction 5 London-bound exit slip, from 8pm Friday 23 February to 5am Saturday 30 March. There will be no access to the A249 from Oad Street or South Green Lane during this time. You will be able to go up Church Hill if travelling along the A249 from Maidstone but you will not be able to exit down Church Hill.

XL Bully Type Dogs
To comply with Government legislation, from the 31st December 2023 owners of XL Bully Type dogs will be required to attend training with their dogs muzzled and on leads at all times.
To comply with clubs insurance policy we will also require a copy of your certificate of exemption and third party liability insurance.

Puppy Awards Feb 2024
Congratulations go to Sue with Tallulah for passing their KC Puppy award. At training our Chairman Gary presented them with their rosette and certificate.

Well done Mark and Su. Our members training subs all go to support local charities in our area.

M2 Junction 5 Closures.
Please be aware of the following road closure on the M2 junction 5. There is no Kent bound exit from from the M2 to Stockbury roundabout and no access Kent bound on to the M2 from Stockbury roundabout. This is a long term closure in effect until the 13th January 2023. Please plan your journey to training accordingly.

Club Achievement Awards
A big congratulations go to Ron with Henry for the Most improved puppy. Andy with Brodie for the Most improved adult dog. Jen with Cass for the Most improved rescue dog and our special award the
Roger Williams Progression Award was jointly awarded to both Alice and Viv with Tasha and Alice for passing through all our classes and are now successful members of our display team.

Hucking Estate Dog Walk

Donations
As you are aware the club donates all proceeds raised from your training subs to animal charities. We are pleased to announce we have recently donated £250 to each of the following. Happy Endings Preloved border collies Curly’s farm Thin Blue Paw Last Chance Support Dogs Lord Whisky And £500 to Buttercups Goat Sanctuary. Thank you everybody for your continued support.

Welcome to the Stockbury Dog Club website

The aim of our club is to enable handlers to train their dogs to achieve a standard where the dogs are sociable with each other and with people.

We meet most Sundays from 10:00am until 11:00am
at
Stockbury Playing Fields (behind the village hall).
Stockbury ME9 7UD

Cost is £5 per week plus an initial £2 joining fee.
We are non profit making, proceeds to various animal related charities.

NOTE:
Please do not arrive before 9:30am.
Dogs must be kept on the lead at all time unless instructed otherwise during class.
If you need to give your dogs an off lead run please do it before arriving at the training area.
New members will be required to fill in a membership form.

Problem dogs may be accepted for training after consultation with club trainers.
Aggressive dogs must be muzzled.


Club Fees

Please note the training fee will increase from 1st September to £5.  This is our first increase in over 10 years!

As you will know all of the income from our training fees after the club administration costs are deducted is then donated to various animal related charities in our area.

All who run the club are volunteers, including our trainers and support staff.


Car Parking

The club is very popular at the moment and we are expecting after the holidays to be even busier. So please park as close to each other as practicable and also use the car park at the front of the village hall. If you need to get away quickly after training we suggest you use the front car park. If the need arises to park in the road then please give due consideration to the residents of the village. Thank you.
